However, I am a big fan of rules that sound like creeds. \u00a0Here is a list I have developed on rules that retirement plan providers should live by. This is a work in progress and more will be added. Feel free to make suggestions and if they are any good, perhaps I\u2019ll add it.<\/p>\n
10.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stick to what you know, you\u2019ll stay out of trouble.<\/p>\n
9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You are only as good as your team.<\/p>\n
8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To not know is OK, to pretend you do is not.<\/p>\n
7. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A good TPA is easier to find than a good bagel outside of Metro New York.<\/p>\n
6. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The client will forgive you for almost anything, as long as you say you\u2019re sorry.<\/p>\n
5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A reputation can take a lifetime to build and a moment to destroy.<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Remember your friends and those that refer you business and never go into business against \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 them.<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The more friends you make in the retirement plan business the better, the more enemies you \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 make, not so much.<\/p>\n
