{"id":1718,"date":"2014-02-19T23:12:39","date_gmt":"2014-02-20T04:12:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/therosenbaumlawfirm.com\/blog\/?p=1718"},"modified":"2014-02-19T23:12:39","modified_gmt":"2014-02-20T04:12:39","slug":"the-thing-about-investment-committees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/therosenbaumlawfirm.com\/blog\/?p=1718","title":{"rendered":"The Thing About Investment Committees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I joked in many of my writings and I believe in my new book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/How-Succeed-401-Plan-Business-ebook\/dp\/B00ID252QY\/\" target=\"_blank\">available<\/a> on Kindle (cheap plug here), was that when my Managing Attorney at that semi prestigious law firm (sorry, Lois) wanted to quell a topic, she\u2019d create a committee for it.<\/p>\n<p>Plan sponsors can\u2019t be managing attorneys for life; they need to have some sort of committee or apparatus to handle the management of their retirement plan. Being like Lois\u2019 committee on social media for lawyers that did nothing and had no members who knew what social media was is going to cut it.<\/p>\n<p>Plan sponsors need to develop a committee to handle their retirement plan and the committee needs to actually function. It needs to have an agenda and enough members to pursue the action of handling the fiduciary process, the administration, and the fiduciary duty of prudence and paying reasonable expenses.
