{"id":7397,"date":"2024-05-25T16:53:10","date_gmt":"2024-05-25T20:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/therosenbaumlawfirm.com\/blog\/?p=7397"},"modified":"2024-05-25T16:53:10","modified_gmt":"2024-05-25T20:53:10","slug":"dol-rule-gets-its-first-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/therosenbaumlawfirm.com\/blog\/?p=7397","title":{"rendered":"DOL rule gets its first lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new fiduciary rule, which had its final rule, published, got its first lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>The Federation of Americans for Consumer Choice (FACC), along with several independent insurance agents, filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against the Department of Labor (DOL).<\/p>\n<p>FACC says it will seek a preliminary injunction to stop the new rule from taking effect while the case is contested.<\/p>\n<p>FACC claims that by implementing a new fiduciary rule, the DOL has violated the Fifth Circuit\u2019s 2018 rule that had vacated the department\u2019s previous 2016 fiduciary legislation.
